The Group owes its presence in the steel industry to the farsightedness of Late Sh. Jai Prakash Modi. He setup a small re-rolling mill in the early 50"s. Since then the Group has grown continuously.Late Sh. Jai Prakash Modi the company commitment to quality, integrity, honesty, and growth is being followed till date. His life's mission was to help others particularly the common man in every possible way.

The Company is now headed by Late Sh. Jai Prakash Modi's sons who are well known in the Steel Industry with experience of over three decades in Rolling/Re-Rolling. Ours is a profit making company. We are engaged in manufacturing of Steel Rounds , Squares and Flat Products which are broadly categorized as the Long Products in the Steel Industry. The main application of our products currently being manufactured, is in the Engineering & Automotive industry.

Our Company is an ISO 9001:2000 certified company. We are constantly making every possible effort to upgrade our technology and improve our product quality to retain and enhance our market share. We have production capacity of 1,20,000 TPA. We roll all kinds of alloy,special & also non-ferous steel.

National General Industries Limited, which had initially started as a small outfit with few members, has during the course of the last decade established itself as one of the largest Steel Producer in the region of long products. We are also a reputed steel suppliers in India. It is the flagship company of J.P.Modi group.

The company, which has become a dependable name in the domestic as well as international market, started as a partnership firm and was taken over by National General Industries Private Limited in the year 1987.

Subsequently in the year 1993 it was converted into a public limited company with its registered office in New Delhi. With its high growth record in the past and a very bright future it is today listed on the major stock exchanges of the country.

In the year 1987, when the present management took over the unit, the manufacturing facilities consisted of just one small rolling mill which had very limited manufacturing capabilities.

Over the years the unit has undergone a sea change and as a result of constant up-gradation and modernization today it consists of three separate lines of production with capabilities to roll sections used in a wide array of engineering, agricultural and automobile industry:

• 625mm complete rolling mill
• 450mm complete rolling mill
• 300mm complete rolling mill

With the new edition of a 25 inch mill(USP), we can provide forging quality rounds, squares, flats by providing reduction using high input size.

• Steel Rounds : 20 mm to 205 mm dia
• Steel Squares : 20 mm to 200 mm (Also round cornered squares)
• Steel Flats : 25 mm to 150 mm ; In thickness of 10mm to 40 mm

All the above mentioned sizes are manufactured in almost any grade of steel; low carbon, high carbon, mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel etc.

The Modi Oil & General Mills
The Modi Oil & General Mills is in existence since 1953 and has been in the business of steel rolling since 1960. It started off with a small mill, but over the past 46 years, the unit has undergone constant upgradation and today it is a composite rolling mill complex that produces all kinds of engineering quality steels.

It has a 300mm mill and an 400mm mill, together capable of rolling a wide array of sections and sizes varying from 18 mm dia to 200 mm diameter round section and also commensurate squares and flats. The unit is a leader in the manufacture of  heavy sections of rounds (70mm to 165mm), squares, flats in the country.

Modi Wire Products
Modi Wire Products is in the business of steel rolling since the last 35 years. The unit has two mills; a 300mm mill and a 400mm mill, capable of rolling sizes as thin as 16mm.

The U.S.P. of this plant is the manufacturing capability of Special grade Flats for the Hand Tool market (Chrome Vanadium), Spring Steel (E.N. 45A) and rounds as thin as 16mm.

Modi Power (P) Ltd.
Modi Power Private Limited is a profit making company primarily engaged in the business of trading, investments and financial market operations. Modi Power Private Limited was incorporated on 23 May, 1991 with its registered office based at Kolkata.

As an integration of the core activity of the group, Modi Power (P) Ltd. is in the process of setting up a Hydro Power Plant. This will feed power to the proposed Steel Melting Shop.

JPM Engineering Services is a consultancy firm set-up to carry out engineering activities related to consultancy for energy projects. JPMES has experts, resources & know-how to design hydro-electric generation projects from concept phase through construction supervision to commissioning.

JPMES has been floated by Modi Power Pvt. Ltd. as subsidiary based in New Delhi. Modi Power Pvt. Ltd. is involved in the field of Infrastructure development, specifically, hydro-power projects and presently developing Upper Manglad HEP (5 MW) in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh.
